Adult Social Care Digital Transformation Fund – Everything You Need To Know
In December 2021, the Department of Health and Social Care published a whitepaper setting out the UK Government’s strategy for the social care sector called People at the Heart of Care.
It set out the government’s plans for integrating health and care services in England on a local level through the creation of Integrated Care Systems (ICS).
Central to this policy is the aim to ensure that the social care sector embraces digital technologies, with a target of having 80% of care providers having implemented a Digital Social Care Records system (DSCR) by March 2024.
To support this target, funding support has been made available to all CQC-registered providers who do not yet have a system through the Adult Social Care Digital Transformation Fund (DTF).
The funding is being administered through individual ICSs, and can be accessed by providers to implement a DSCR from the NHS Assured Supplier List of software providers.
Each ICS has their own approach to allocating the funding to providers, but in general it can be accessed to partially- or fully-fun implementation and training costs and initial licenses.

The benefits of implementing a DSCR for operational efficiency, quality monitoring, record keeping and care delivery are well-recognised.
